♠ Giant Of A Man ♠

Happy Birthday Hagrid!
Rubeus Hagrid is a fictional character in the Harry Potter book series written by J. K. Rowling. The character is usually addressed only by his surname. Hagrid is the half-giant Keeper of Keys and Grounds, gamekeeper and, starting in Harry Potter's third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Care of Magical Creatures teacher. Later in the series, it is revealed that Hagrid is also a member of the Order of the Phoenix. "Hagrid", according to Rowling in an interview with The Boston Globe, comes from the word "hagridden", meaning to have a nightmarish night, particularly when hung over.--courtesy of wikipedia

A quick Happy Birthday to Robbie Coltrane who portrays the gentle giant  Hagrid in the Harry Potter Movies! And look! There's also Fang, his dog! Such a loyal bestfriend! Cheerz!

♠ No Ifs' or Buts' ♠

Hey there! It's been ages since my last book review, the reason I created this blog, is for me to post book reviews every now and then, it's just that so many things are on my mind lately, that I haven't find a decent book to review, or maybe I just need to organize my thoughts first. It's also  a good thing that I can use my blog to hand over God's messages  to other people. Next week, I'm going to try and compile the books and authors that I'm going to publish and try to comment on them as much as I can.

On the other hand, I just finished reading The Last Oracle by James Rollins and no surprises here, the book was again a thrill-a-minute-ride! His Sigma Series is one of the best series in fiction today. You rock James! And I hope we can see a synopsis of your newest Sigma novel entitled "The Devil Colony". I'm waiting for it!  You've been very busy lately and I hope you can write as many books as fast as you can! Haha!

What  I'm reading now is Debbie Macomber's 92 Pacific Boulevard, this is the 9th book on her beloved Cedar Cove Series. I've read all the 8 previous books (16 Lighthouse Road, 204 Rosewood Lane, 311 Pelican Court, 44 Cranberry Point, 50 Harbor Street, 6 Rainier Drive,74 Seaside Avenue, 8  Sandpiper Way) and they are all fantastic. You should try them out! Cheerz!

♠ The Lenten Season With GOD ♠

The season of Lent re-echoes GOD’s call for us all to reorient & redirect our hearts toward GOD. What we love reveals what we value. The secret of having a meaningful & grace-filled season lies in what is hidden in us. May GOD find a contrite heart in each of us.

These coming days, let us devote ourselves in prayer.  This is the time to reflect and surrender ourselves to GOD. May we be renewed! A Blessed Holy Week ahead to all of us!

♠ Reluctant Over Gaga ♠

♫♪ Happy Gaga Birthday! ♫♪
Lady Gaga (born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta; March 28, 1986) is an American recording artist. She began performing in the rock music scene of New York City's Lower East Side. Her debut album, The Fame, was released on August 19, 2008. In addition to receiving generally positive reviews, it reached number-one in Canada, Austria, Germany, and Ireland and topped the Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart. Its first two singles, "Just Dance" and "Poker Face", co-written and co-produced with RedOne, became international number-one hits, topping the Hot 100 in the United States as well as other countries. The album later earned a total of six Grammy Award nominations and won awards for Best Electronic/Dance Album and Best Dance Recording. --courtesy of wikipedia

When I first heard of Lady Gaga, I was pretty sure she's just one of those artists who dresses up with eccentric, unconventional and slightly strange outfits, she did this to be accepted by the music industry. And given those impressions on me, I deliberately refused to listen to her,  even though the whole world knows her and her music.  A friend of mine told me that her record was really excellent.  I finally gave in and checked the record out myself.  A feeling of mild astonishment of the unexpected happened to me. In reality her record was indeed of a very high quality.  Her songs are fresh, appealing, and enjoyable. Nothing I've ever heard of before, and that's what I like on a particular artist, originality. She may dress somewhat excessive and unreasonable, but it doesn't get in the way of her superb talent! Cheerz!

♠ A Night of Two Proportions ♠

Tonight at exactly 8:30pm let us join the rest of the world and turn off our lights in cooperation for the 60 minutes  Earth Hour.
Let us be a part of this important event and help one another to save our planet. Everyday, we should conserve power and try to take care of our environment as best as we could.

Also,  tonight will be the concert that everyone is waiting for! Well, everyone except me. I can't possibly go to the venue. I'm a bit of a homebody type of guy. I seldom go to concerts and events. Don't want to elbow my way to the front line just to see the performers, it's a hassle for me .Well, if Enya will visit here, then I'll be singing a different tune. Haha. Justin Timberlake is my sister's favorite singer alongside with Britney Spears, but they broke up ages ago. But still she love Justin nevertheless, it's sad that she can't make it to the concert, in view of the fact, that she has other important things to attend to, I can't divulge any information regarding it. Hehe. On the other hand, I know Jojo, I've been listening to her records every now and then. Quite a remarkable artist too! I hope the concert will be a success!

♠ Hobbits, Wizards, Orcs, and Middle-Earth! ♠

The Hobbit is an upcoming two-part film based on the novel of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien. The film is in development for releases in December 2011 (Part 1) and December 2012 (Part 2) and will be directed by Guillermo del Toro, with Peter Jackson, director of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, serving as executive producer and co-writer. Originally, both parts would have served as separate films. The first would have adapted The Hobbit and the second would have bridged the gap between this and The Lord of the Rings. It is the director's intention to split and expand the narrative of The Hobbit over two parts of a singular film.--courtesy of wikipedia

Yahoo!!! After watching the Lord of the Rings Movie trilogy  and after reading all the books, I was eagerly hoping that a prequel to The Lord of the Rings would be in the making, considering the gargantuan success the three films generated! And now it really is here! These pictures are solid proof that the filming of The Hobbit is under way! I can't wait for this movie to come out! Finally, all of us fans of J.R.R. Tolkien, will have something to look forward to! Cheerz!

♠ The Singer and The Director ♠

Happy Birthday to these two remarkable celebrities!

Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. She made her recording debut in 1990 under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, and became the first recording artist to have her first five singles top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Carey has sold more than 175 million albums, singles and videos worldwide. At the 2000 World Music Awards, she received the Millennium Award for becoming the best-selling female artist of the 2000s. Carey and actor/comedian/rapper Nick Cannon met while they shot Carey's music video for her second single "Bye Bye" on a private island of the coast of Antigua. On April 30, 2008, Carey married Nick Cannon, at Carey's private estate on Windermere Island in The Bahamas. In October 2008, Carey was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.--courtesy of wikipedia

One of the leading voices in the music industry, she is up to now a voice that never fails to captivate us. She manages to stay afloat amidst all the younger and fresher faces in the music scene. With her powerful signature whistle and vocal reach, she is one of the most celebrated singers of all time. She did a concert here in the Philippines, and as expected the crowd was overflowing! Sadly, I wasn't there to watch it. :-(

Can you guess what Quentin is wearing? Yup! It's a Barong Tagalog! As far as I know, he was here in the Philippines last 2007 to meet with certain Filipino directors. Quentin's Kill Bill is my personal favorite! Cheerz! :-)

♠ Wedded Bliss ♠

My very best wishes to Nicole Hyala on her wedding day tomorrow!  I've been an avid listener of their program since 2007. With her partner Chris Tsuper, as seen on the photo, The Tambalan Program on 90.7 Love Radio, that airs weekdays, generates listeners from all walks of life.  I find their everyday topics, [mostly from different people who seeks their advice on love, family and relationships]  profoundly comical, hysterically funny and rib-tickling. Their witty repartee with each other made their show No.1 on radio ratings.

With their infectious good humour  on radio, they elevated themselves not only as radio personalities but as recording artists as well.  As a matter of fact, they have 3 albums out on the market and it's doing well on the local charts.  This unstoppable duo will continue to provide amusement and enjoyment to their listeners everywhere. Cheerz!

♠ Happy Fabulous Birthday ♠

Sarah Jessica Parker (born March 25, 1965) is an American film, television and theatre actress, and producer. She is best known for her leading role as Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO television series Sex and the City, for which she won four Golden Globe Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Emmy Awards. She played the same role in the 2008 feature film version of the show, Sex and the City: The Movie.--courtesy of wikipedia
She is one of my favorite actress, she's funny and fabulous. I fell in love with her character in Sex and the City. The whole series was a blast! It also has moral lessons, not just the sex part of the story that people think. It's a lot more than that. It's sad that the series went off the air in 2004. The sequel, Sex and the City 2, is scheduled to open on May 28, 2010! Cheerz!

♠ Fear Nothing, GOD Is With You ♠

God often sends me joy through pain, through bitter loss, divinest gain;yet through it all—dark days or bright,I know my Father leads aright. The living God can take the fear out of living.

Not so long ago, I woke up in the middle of the night.  I just had a terrible dream.  In my dream, I was being possessed by the devil itself, I know, you might think I'm just  kidding, but it's the truth. The first thing I did was utter a prayer to GOD. It was so real I wasn't able to go back to sleep, I even turned on the lights in my room to compose myself.

Fear can be a very powerful emotion, we can be susceptible to Satan's attacks. I know for a fact that all of us had nightmares before.  The best defense is our faith in GOD and that His love and power outshines all evil. We should all work our own salvation with fear and trembling...

♠ Happy Birthday Tatay ♠

When we’ve been alone with Jesus,
There’s a difference others know;
And to them it’s like a fragrance
That we leave wherever we go.

A life lived for GOD has a pleasing aroma.

Today, is my father's birthday. He's now 55 years old.  When I was younger, my father was employed by a cement corporation.  I always look forward to Christmas,  mainly,  because that's the only time I get to see his working place.  We would ride their service bus and I get to see loads of scenery during the trip.  For a child, that was a big thing for me.  When we arrived at our destination, the party was already in full swing. The company rented colorful chairs, fancy tables, balloons and loads of  Christmas gifts to be given away.  We ate, had fun and just enjoyed our father and son moment together. That's what I remember most whenever my father is celebrating his birthday.

But what I'm truly happy about is his unyielding faith in GOD. Having discovered GOD, he abstained from drinking, smoking and gambling.  He became a whole new person, a better person. I'm very proud of my father, even though I criticize him and sometimes we don't agree on certain topics. I love him nevertheless. Happy Birthday Papi! GOD bless you!

♠ GOD is our Strength ♠

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble, but be brave! I have defeated the world. - JESUS CHRIST

Life is full of disappointments, failures, and  misery. And we all experience these emotions in our everyday lives.  It's hard to comprehend that you did all your best and still the result of your hardwork is gone to waste.  Sometimes, I do question myself if I did enough to achieve my goals in life.  If  I worked hard to reach them. If we feel these emotions are about to destroy us, let us give them all to GOD and pray for His guidance and His never ending love. He will comfort us in our time of need...

♠ Trains and Stations ♠

Tonight on the news, the LRT Line 1 will open it's Balintawak Station. We can now ride the LRT from Baclaran Station  to Balintawak Station. This is a big development and many office workers, students, and many others, will be elated that another hassle-free travel back and forth will be given to them. I hope the other stations will open very soon as well.

Let us also be accountable for its use!

♠ Crucial Rain Drops ♠

Just a while ago, small drops of water fell from the sky. It was raining! You might think I'm weird since it's just rain. Well, it's been so long since this happened and I kinda missed it.  But it didn't last that long.  We still have months to go until the rainy season arrives.  This El Niño really is a burden to all of us.  We must try and preserve as much water as we can.  Let us heed the warnings and reminders of our government to conserve water.

Each of us should be responsible enough not to waste it! It's for our own good!

♠ GOD and our Family ♠

If men and women yield to God, and of His love partake, the marriage bond that joins two hearts, no power on earth can break. God created husband and wife to complement each other.

“There is no doubt that it is around the family and the home that all the greatest virtues, the most dominating virtues of human society, are created, strengthened and maintained”

Our family is the most important people that we have to cherish for the rest of our lives.  Our family is the one who'll be with us even on our darkest of days.  Tell them that you care for them in every way you can, people nowadays are susceptible to changes and everyday they take their families for granted. I'm away from my family most of my college life, and up to now I still am, loads of bad influences paraded their way to me, smoking, alcohol, cutting classes and so on. Thinking of my family made me fight off all of those worldly things. If your parents brought you up with a right attitude, good judgement, and faith in GOD, you can use that and guide other people on the right path.

A blessed Sunday to all of us and may GOD look after us all!!!

♠ The Beauty Of JESUS ♠

Let the beauty of JESUS be seen in me. All His wonderful passion and purity! O Thou Spirit divine, all my nature refine, till the beauty of JESUS be seen in me. Righteousness in the heart produces beauty in the character.

Everyday, more and more people die of cancer, lung problems, natural disasters and other diseases. These are signs that our environment is slowly being polluted and there will come a day that everything that is pure in this world will be gone. Let us put a stop on this fast approaching dark future. Let us take part in keeping our environment as clean as we can.

In our own small way we can make a BIG DIFFERENCE.

♠ GOD is Humble ♠

A Prayer: Lord, teach us to be humble. May our desire be that You be known, honored, loved, and exalted in every thought and action—above ourselves. Amen. The great Christian is one who is small enough to let GOD be great in his life.

Being humble is not that easy, in our daily lives it's so hard to apply this to other people, especially if that person really irritates you. I've experienced this before and  so have you. Let us put GOD in our minds and think what He would want us to do in this kind of situation.

Let us try to be more like Jesus. Let us be HUMBLE..

♠ From Debbie to Mary ♠

Just finished reading 8 Sandpiper Way! Debbie never fails to excite her readers with her Cedar Cove Series. I even resorted on sending her a personal email to express my comments on her books, and to my amazement, she sent me a reply! But I need to pause for a break and read something else.

Next on my list is Mary Higgins Clark's Let Me Call You Sweetheart! It's suspense and action rolled into one! This is not my first Mary Higgins book, I've read a couple of them and now I'm reading her again! It may take me a while to finish this book, in view of the fact, that I need to concentrate on my training tomorrow.

I'll just try to find time to catch up on my reading!
